Every January a new crop of "best rendering companies" lists appears, and most of them share a quiet flaw: they are written by a rendering company, which tends to finish first. For 2026 we took a different route. Instead of our opinion, we looked at the one verdict the visualization industry gives itself every year, the CGArchitect 3D Awards, now presented with Chaos at the World Visualization Festival, and asked what the last three editions tell a buyer.
The short answer: the best 3D rendering companies right now are spread across far more countries than the old London-New York axis, and the work that wins is increasingly moving, interactive or both.
The 2025 winners
The 21st edition was presented at the World Visualization Festival in Warsaw in October 2025. The category winners were:
- Studio of the Year: SALTVISION (Belgium), also nominated for interactive work.
- Commissioned Film: Arqui9 Visualisation (United Kingdom).
- Commissioned Image: RYTM STUDIO (Ukraine).
- Interactive VR/AR Experience: Kinerama and Bwow Studio (Spain).
- Non-Commissioned Film: Kunkun Visual (Indonesia).
- Non-Commissioned Image: Mátyás Kovács (Hungary).
- Viz Pro of the Year: Stefana Ristić (Serbia).
Among the nominees for Studio of the Year were Yellow Studio (Estonia) and Nightnurse Images (Switzerland). Okdraw (Portugal) was nominated for both image and film, and Brick Visual (Hungary) for film and interactive work.

The 2024 and 2023 results
In 2024, Brick Visual won Studio of the Year and Best Commissioned Image. Tecma Solutions (Italy) won Commissioned Film, and The Rapid Eye Movement (Canada) the interactive category. Viz Pro of the Year went to Mohamed Ali Salih from Egypt.
In 2023, DBOX (United States) won Film, Brooklyn Digital Foundry (United States) was Viz Pro of the Year, and Kinerama (Spain) won Interactive. Neoscape (United States) and Recent Spaces (United Kingdom) were among the nominees.
What three years of results tell a buyer
Excellence is no longer concentrated in a few cities. Recent winners and nominees come from Belgium, Hungary, Ukraine, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Estonia, Serbia, Indonesia, Egypt, Canada and the United States. For a developer or architect, that means you can find award-level quality in a time zone and price range that suits you, rather than defaulting to the most famous names.
Moving and interactive work is gaining ground. Separate categories for commissioned film and interactive VR/AR experiences, and repeat winners such as Kinerama, show how much of the best work is now experienced rather than looked at. If your project is a sales launch, it is worth asking a studio about film and real-time work, not only stills. Our comparison of rendering, animation and virtual tours helps decide which you need.
Consistency counts. Brick Visual appears in winner or nominee lists across several recent editions. A single brilliant image can be a fluke; a studio that is recognised year after year has a reliable process behind it.
Awards reward ambition, not always fit. An award-winning commissioned film was made for a specific client, budget and brief. It shows what a studio can do at its best, which is not the same as what it will do on a modest budget in a tight schedule.
How to choose among the best 3D rendering companies in 2026
Start with the categories that match your need: commissioned work, not personal projects, if you are hiring for a real launch. Then look at each studio's full portfolio, not just the winning piece, and ask for a complete series from one project. Our checklist for choosing a 3D rendering studio covers the rest, and our evergreen guide to the best architectural visualization studios profiles the names recognised over the longer term.
Budget matters too. Studios at this level usually price accordingly; our rendering cost guide explains what moves the price per image.
Where VARI fits
We are VARI Studio, a 3D visualization, architecture and interior design studio in Cairo, and we did not put ourselves on this list: these are the industry's results, not ours. It is encouraging, though, to see Egypt represented, with Mohamed Ali Salih named Viz Pro of the Year in 2024 and Egyptian visualizer Karim Moussa (Mozses) nominated for both image and film in 2023.
Our own work for projects in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Canada and the USA is in our portfolio. If you are looking for precise, atmospheric images built from your drawings, tell us about your project.
